Al Dowe

Al Dowe graduated from the Navy School of Music, and traveled around the world twice with the Navy Jazz Band.   In Chicago he played with Fats Cole, the brother of Nat King Cole and drummer Louie Belson.   In Pittsburgh he formed his own band and has played throughout the Tri-State Area, as well as New York City, Key West Florida and Atlantic City.   He received the Vectors Award for Excellence in the Arts in 2002, and the Harry Schwalb Award in 2003, and the Talk Magazine “Walt Harper Award” in 2009.   He owned two popular jazz clubs, “Dowe’s on Ninth” and “Club Café.
